Switzerland & The Euro
It seems unlikely that Switzerland will ever join the Euro, however stranger things do happen. There is probably a much stronger case for Switzerland to join than for Turkey, or some of the other potential new entrants.
Switzerland's independence and neutrality have long been honored by the major European powers and Switzerland was not involved in either of the two World Wars. The political and economic integration of Europe over the past half century, as well as Switzerland's role in many UN and international organizations has strengthened Switzerland's ties with its neighbors. Switzerland is active in many UN and international organizations, but retains a strong commitment to neutrality.
This military neutrality does not necessarily dictate economic neutrality. The Swiss have a well founded reputation for conservatism, and their currency the Swiss Franc has a repupation for its strength. The Swiss would probably be more reticent therefore about abandoning the Franc and joining the euro, but it may still be possible for it to join the EU without adopting the Euro.
We have had considerable interest in obtaining pattern Swiss euro coins, whether this will ever come about, we cannot guess. If there is any change, we will post it here.

Unofficial Patterns
On a number of previous occasions, especially before major coinage changes, pattern coins have been produced as a design exercise or to test public opinion. Many of these have been privately produced. A privately produced pattern set of British euro coins has already been produced, and met with intense demand, despite almost negligible marketing. Original priced at around �40, these have changed hands for over �250 on e-bay.
We have not yet seen any suggested designs for Swiss euro coins, but...
